Dear Khataba Depresso family,

First and foremost — alhamdulillah. Real marriages and real families have come from this project, and that knowledge is something I carry with deep gratitude. It is among the most meaningful things I have ever been a part of, and it is what kept me going through everything that followed.

I want to address the extended pause of the past year honestly. I kept as many of you updated as I could through WhatsApp statuses and TikTok, but I know that wasn't enough, and I'm sorry for the uncertainty. During that time, I faced significant personal and business challenges — and I also had to formally restructure Khataba Depresso from an American-based entity into a Saudi-owned business to operate legally in Saudi Arabia, where I am based and where most of our applicants are.

To those of you who were there from the beginning: you believed in this concept before it was proven, and you trusted me with something deeply personal. That has never been lost on me. Your stories, your hopes, and your goals stayed with me throughout, and you are my highest priority as I reopen.

What's new. I have moved away from WhatsApp and onto a dedicated website. Managing thousands of applicants individually through WhatsApp had become unsustainable — and you deserved better. A personal portal has already been created for each of you, where your matches and introductions will be managed going forward. The process is now more organised, more private, and more accessible.

For our original applicants. As a thank-you for your patience and loyalty, all original applicants will receive Priority Matching status. This means I will actively place you at the front of my matching queue, dedicating focused effort to finding you compatible introductions before taking on new applicants.

Thank you for your patience, your trust, and your continued belief in this work. I am excited to begin this next chapter, and I look forward to the marriages and families that are still to come from this community, إن شاء الله.
